A striking pair of vintage ceramic horse figurines featuring beautifully stylized Art Deco lines and a creamy off-white crackle glaze. Their sculptural, simplified forms give them that wonderful early 20th-century pottery look, while the naturally aged crackle finish adds plenty of vintage character.
The maker is unknown. Interestingly, the bottoms of the glazed feet have a handwritten pencil notation that appears to read “1936” or “1937.” While I cannot confirm this as the actual production date, the styling is certainly consistent with the Art Deco era.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear and crazing/crackle throughout. One horse has a small chip/damage at the neck area, and there is damage to a front hoof as shown in the photos. Despite these imperfections, the pair displays beautifully and has wonderful character. Please review all photos closely, as they are considered part of the description.
These would be gorgeous styled together on a stack of vintage books, a mantel, console table, or mixed into a collected shelf of antique and vintage pottery.
