Charming vintage pair of Delft-style blue and white porcelain figurines depicting a traditional Dutch boy and girl.
Both figures are modeled with shoulder yokes, a classic European pastoral motif. The girl wears a traditional Dutch bonnet and dress, while the boy is dressed in a cap and neck scarf. Beautiful cobalt-blue detailing against crisp white porcelain gives the pair the timeless look of traditional Dutch Delftware.
While inspired by classic Dutch Delft designs, this pair was made in Japan, with an incised “Made in Japan” mark on the back. Pieces of this style were widely produced for the export market during the mid-20th century and make wonderful examples of vintage blue-and-white décor.
