A piece of history given a new purpose.
This Flea & Frame Creation features a beautifully detailed book print depicting The Government House, the historic Georgian-style mansion that once stood at the foot of Broadway, south of Bowling Green in New York City.
Constructed in 1790, Government House was originally intended to serve as the official executive mansion for President George Washington. The federal government relocated to Philadelphia before the residence could be used for that purpose.
I carefully removed this architectural print from a book and paired it with a solid wood frame, creating a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art that blends history with the collected character I love.
The solid wood frame is fitted with textured non-glare glass, which helps reduce reflections while giving the print a softly diffused appearance.
The warm wood frame works beautifully with the muted colors and fine architectural detail of the print. Style it in a library, study or office, add it to a gallery wall, or lean it among old books, brass accents and other collected treasures.
Frame measures 9” x 7” - wall mount
Flea & Frame Creation: Created using a sourced book print and solid wood frame. Because the print originated in a book, minor characteristics associated with its original format may be present and are part of its charm.
