Vintage D. Alexandroff Bird & Blossom Botanical Print – Ornate Red Basketweave Frame – Mid-Century Wall Art

Add a little vintage charm and a beautiful pop of color to your home with this lovely mid-century botanical bird print from the “Bird and Blossom” collection by artist D. Alexandroff, published by Donald Art Co., Inc., New York.

The artwork features a charming crested songbird perched on a flowering dogwood branch, surrounded by delicate ivory blossoms, soft pink buds, and lush green foliage. The warm, aged cream background and beautifully detailed illustration give this piece a timeless, nostalgic appeal.

What makes this piece especially interesting is its distinctive vintage frame and the history behind the artwork. The richly colored crimson red wooden frame features an intricate basketweave-style design, raised detailing, and subtle antiqued gold accents. Its unusual texture and beautifully aged finish make the frame just as eye-catching as the artwork itself.

The frame retains its original manufacturer’s backing from Reliance Industries, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, identifying it as Style No. 741. Interestingly, other botanical bird prints from the same apparent collection have been found in identical Reliance frames, suggesting these pieces may have originally been offered as a coordinated decorative series.

The original backing even features vintage decorating advice for arranging small pictures into gallery walls—a wonderful little detail from another era!

Perfect for a cottagecore gallery wall, vintage farmhouse kitchen, cozy reading nook, traditional study, or anyone who appreciates botanical illustrations and distinctive vintage décor.
