A beautiful matching pair of vintage Argent’Oro bird figurines by NARCO (National Potteries Corporation) of Bedford, Ohio. The Argent’Oro name translates from Italian to “Silver and Gold,” fitting the line’s distinctive use of softly metallic and iridescent glaze accents.

This coordinating set features two different songbirds: a Blue Jay and an Oven Bird, as identified on their bases. Both carry the factory mold number B-5666, tying the two pieces together as part of the same Argent’Oro design.

The Blue Jay is distinguished by its prominent crest, while the Oven Bird has a smoother, rounded head. Rather than using completely naturalistic coloring, NARCO gave the birds an artistic mid-century palette of muted olive green, warm brown, cream and gold tones with subtle luster accents. Each bird is perched on a sculpted branch with foliage, giving the pair wonderful dimension and detail.

These would be beautiful displayed together on a bookshelf, mantel, vintage cabinet or tucked into a collected gallery of pottery and nature-inspired décor. They also make a lovely find for collectors of Ohio pottery, NARCO ceramics, vintage bird figurines and mid-century décor.

Condition: Nice vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of wear. Please review all photos closely, as they are considered part of the description.
